About Us

BACKGROUND

In early 2015 a group of local downtown business owners encouraged by the City of League City met informally to discuss the revitalization planned in the area. It was determined that an association should be formed to not only support this effort but to create increased activity in downtown over the long term. A steering committee held a series of meetings that led to the League City Downtown Association being organized and registered with the Secretary of State.

MISSION

To create a vibrant, safe, walkable and popular business and residential area where people want to visit, live, work, play and stay.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership is open to all. Any person or business may become a member of the Association by submitting a membership application and paying the prescribed dues.

  • Website www.LeagueCityDowntown.com launched.
  • A membership drive resulted in over thirty new members.
  • Served as a major stakeholder voice in the City’s Downtown $10.4M Redevelopment Plan.
  • Along with the City and Chamber initiated the Google program “Put League City on the Map”.
  • Hosted numerous downtown centered membership and guest networking events.

FUNDING

The organization is a nonprofit 501(c)3 funded primarily by member dues.
